In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. And the earth was a formless and desolate emptiness, and darkness was over the surface of the deep, and the Spirit of God was hovering over the surface of the waters. Then God said, “Let there be light”; and there was light. God saw that the light was good; and God separated the light from the darkness. God called the light “day,” and the darkness He called “night.” And there was evening and there was morning, one day. ~ Genesis 1:1-5
God has never stopped creating. He calls us to be His co-creators.
Sin keeps us from knowing, understanding and participating in God’s plan.
Remember, Lord, Your compassion and Your faithfulness, For they have been from of old. Do not remember the sins of my youth or my wrongdoings; Remember me according to Your faithfulness, For Your goodness’ sake, Lord. The Lord is good and upright; Therefore He instructs sinners in the way. He leads the humble in justice, And He teaches the humble His way. All the paths of the Lord are faithfulness and truth To those who comply with His covenant and His testimonies. For the sake of Your name, Lord, Forgive my wrongdoing, for it is great. ~ Psalm 25:6-11
Why is there suffering in the world? Sin.
If you’ve never really experienced God or His love it it hard to know that life is worth it in the midst of all our suffering.
Love is patient, love is kind, it is not jealous; love does not brag, it is not arrogant. It does not act disgracefully, it does not seek its own benefit; it is not provoked, does not keep an account of a wrong suffered, it does not rejoice in unrighteousness, but rejoices with the truth; it keeps every confidence, it believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. ~ 1 Corinthians 13:4-7
Unfortunately, that’s not most people’s experience of love.
SOME WAYS GOD CAN SPEAK TO US
- His “still small voice”
- His audible voice
- (Sometimes but not always) Through confirmation through our circumstances
… for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God … ~ Romans 3:23
