MESSAGE NOTES
Therefore Pilate said to Him, “So You are a king?” Jesus answered, “You say correctly that I am a king. For this I have been born, and for this I have come into the world, to testify to the TRUTH. Everyone who is of the TRUTH hears My voice.” Pilate said to Him, “What is TRUTH?” … ~ John 18:37-38a
For they exchanged the TRUTH of God for lie, and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed forever. Amen. ~ Romans 1:25
THREE FACTS ABOUT TRUTH
1)Truth is DIVINE!
Alétheia (GREEK) ~~ Truth (ENGLISH)
Synonymous for”reality” as opposed to “illusion.” Refers to truth of idea, to reality, to sincerity, to truth in the moral sphere.
2) Truth is SINGULAR!
… I am THE way, and THE truth, and THE life; no one comes to the Father but through Me. ~ John 14:6
3) Truth is ABSOLUTE!
And the Word became flesh, and dwelt among us, and we saw His glory, glory as of the only begotten from the Father, full of grace and TRUTH… For the Law was given through Moses; grace and TRUTH were realized through Jesus Christ. ~ John 1:14, 17
But an hour is coming, and now is, when the TRUE worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and TRUTH; for such people the Father seeks to be His worshipers. God is Spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in Spirit and TRUTH.” ~ John 4:23-24
So Jesus was saying to those Jews who had believed Him, “IF you continue in My word, THEN you are TRULY disciples of Mine; and you will know the TRUTH, and the TRUTH will make you free.” ~ John 8:31-32
Jesus answered them,
TRULY, TRULY I say to you, everyone who commits sin is the slave of sin … So if the Son makes you free, you will be free indeed. ~ John 8:34, 36
